So you have a high school senior in your midst and it’s time to get portraits taken.  First – take a moment and breath.   You’re not just imagining it – it is truly amazing that your child is so old already!  They were just toddling up to you asking to be picked up and with a blink of the eye they are preparing to make their own way in the world!  Seriously – breath again.  😉  It’s amazing, right?!?!

Wondering when the right time is to book your senior portrait session?  Honestly – when you are ready!  I’ve had many seniors come in the summer before their senior year so that they had their pictures back well before senior year started and could use them for portfolios, yearbooks, etc.  I’ve also had many seniors come in weeks before graduation to get a quick shoot in and have some pictures to share at their graduation parties.  The real answer is you should choose a time that works for you.  While I do get your pictures back to you quickly I would recommend doing them earlier rather than later so that you can use them throughout your senior year.  The most common times would be fall or early spring of senior year.

Sessions are roughly 1 hour in length and my style of shooting is very relaxed.  I rely on letting you be relaxed and yourself to get true and fun images for you!  Because of these two factors I ask that we limit locations and outfits to just 2 each and the locations should be close to one another in an effort to limit the breaks in our shooting so we can keep our momentum going.  Most seniors will opt for a dressy look and a casual one.  For locations let me know what look your inspired by I can suggest some with options that will fit into your style.

Yes of course!  Part of what we are capturing is what makes you you.  That certainly would include your family.  There is absolutely no extra charge for including a mini-family session in with your senior portrait session!  Feel free to bring along your family and everyone can get a headshot moment right along with you.  And as a bonus your family typically is the best source of genuine smiles and laughter for your shoot.

You can typically expect your pictures to be ready fairly quickly.  🙂  If you opt into the blog/Facebook option those usually go up 4-5 days after your shoot and your full private gallery is typically ready about a week after your session.  From your gallery you can purchase prints/digitals/etc.  If you have already purchased a flashdrive of all your images at your session then you will receive the drive withing 2 weeks of your session.  Prints and flashdrives usually take 2 weeks from your purchase date before they are ready for shipment.  If you need anything rushed just let me know and I’ll see what I can do to move your order along more quickly.  🙂

The short answer is no, there is absolutely no minimum purchase.  The day of your session your session fee ($150 plus tax) is due and you can pay with cash/check/charge.  You can opt to pre-purchase your flashdrive at this time and I waive the shipping fees when purchased with the session.  After your session you can purchase your prints/digitals/flashdrive/etc from your private gallery.  You can find those prices here – https://www.katiebeachphotography.com/investment/prints-and-more/

While the blog/Facebook posted are not available for download, if you have purchased digitals either on their own or part of a flashdrive you can certainly use those files for your school yearbook, newspaper announcements, etc.  I do maintain the copyright to the images so that they are not available for resale but you are more than free to share them with friends, family, schools, etc as you see fit.  Photo credits are always nice but by no means necessary.  🙂
